Sorry Folks,

Lindy in the Park is canceled today (11/20/2011) due to rain. It’s currently raining here in SF (10:30 AM) and the forecasts predict a chance of rain throughout the day. Hopefully we’ll be back next week (yes, we are planning to do LitP the Sunday of Thanksgiving weekend, 11/27/2011).

Reminder: Daylight Savings Ends Nov. 6, 2011

Daylight Savings Time Ends Early Sunday Morning, Nov. 6, 2011!

So remember to reset all your clocks and watches back one hour Saturday night to standard time (“rock step, spring forward, fall back, triple-step”).  And you’ll get an extra hour of sleep–-woohoo! Otherwise, you will show up to Lindy in the Park earlier than you expected–-you may even show up on time at 11:00 AM!

Lindy in the Park 15th Anniversary Dance & Potluck Picnic – August 14, 2011!

Lindy in the Park, the longest-running regular Lindy hop swing dance event in the San Francisco Bay Area, is turning 15!  On Sunday, August 14, 2011 come celebrate 15 years of free swing dancing in Golden Gate Park with a special Anniversary edition of Lindy in the Park.  To celebrate, we’re having a potluck picnic and extending the music and dancing hours until at least 3:00pm.  Come out and party, dance, see your friends, reunite with old friends, make new friends, share some delicious food, and have a great time!

SPECIAL COMMEMORATIVE T-SHIRTS & SWEATSHIRTS:
To mark this special occasion, we’ll be selling limited-edition Lindy in the Park 15th Anniversary t-shirts and sweatshirts.  Here’s a sample of the design:

WHEN:

Extended Hours: 11:00am-3:00pm+

SCHEDULE:
11:00am-3:00pm+: Music & Dancing & Potluck Picnic
12:00pm-12:30pm: Free Beginner Swing Dance Lesson with Hep Jen
~2:00pm: Annual Group Photo

WHAT TO BRING:
Bring main dishes, side dishes, salads, desserts, and drinks to share.  (Paper plates, cups, and plastic utensils are already taken care of.)

WHERE:
The regular Lindy in the Park location: the south sidewalk area along John F. Kennedy Drive between the de Young Museum and the north entrance to the Music Concourse. VOLUNTEERS:
